Singam 2 Movie Review
- Roaring with all might, Singam 2 hit the theatre screens today. After the grand success of its prequel Singam, it was just time that was gearing us up for the release of the sequel Singam 2 and finally its here!
Produced by Prince Pictures, we have Surya teaming up with director Hari for the fourth time in Singam 2. Singam 2 stars Anushka, Hansika, Vivek, Santhanam, Rahman and Hollywood star Danny Sapani alongside Surya. Music is by Devi Sri Prasad again, with cinematography by Priyan.
Starting off from where it ended, Singam 2 is the continuing story of Duraisingam (Surya), as he hunts down a huge drug deal. After his pretend resignation from the police department, Singam 2 chronicles the secret mission that was given to Duraisingam. He is now in Tuticorin and is a local NCC coach at a school where Hansika studies. A series of events leads the protagonist gathering information about a drug deal taking place in the area. Mixed with romance, comedy and action Singam 2 unfolds the most gripping plot that is hard to predict.
Fighting not just one villain but a series of them with well executed stunts, Singam 2 has action packed and nail biting sequences. Surya is at a full swing when it comes to his performance in Singam 2. He has done a perfect job of dialogue delivery, facial expressions and his ‘veri’ as a cop. The director has pinned with his crisp narration, well thought dialogues coupled with witty one liner and many liner comedies from Santhanam and Vivek. Hansika and Anushka have added their bit of glam to the story perfectly.
Danny Sapani, Rahman, Mukesh Rishi and Rajendran have all done justice to the bad guy image set by the prequels villain Prakash Raj. The supporting artists are also apt; most of them have continued their roles from the first and have done them well again. Cons as such cannot be pin pointed, but the songs where a tad distracting from the action that was being unfolded on screen.
A comparison to the prequel cannot be drawn as both the flicks are superb in its own ways. But Singam 2 with its unpredictable series of gripping events is a sure entertainer that does not fail to convey the power of the Singam. Don’t miss it.
